From personal experience with eating disorders I believe that diets only make you fat, any kind of restricted eating. Of course sugar is not healthy and we need plenty of fiber, proteins and the right kind of fat. But to observe these rules, we don´t need a diet.
Instead of following a plan, I believe in listening to the body. This is known as intuitive eating but I do not think it is necessary to stick a label on it.
Instead of dieting we can follow our appetites and even cravings - there is a reason we experience these and satisfying them gives a sense of well-being.
Counting calories and diets do not work to prevent obesity. Body weight is a holistic subject that cannot be mastered by logical thinking. Thank you for your interesting article.
